This is yet another unique variety within this family - both with its very glossy dark green elliptical leaves and its long fuzzy shocking pink flowers from dark purple calyces.
Not known in in the wild in its native Mexico, but seed was bought into the Uk in 1960 by Sir Charles Buchanan, after growing it in his garden it was propagated on by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and hence we can enjoy this lovely plant . Not winter hardy so enjoy well into the autumn in a container.
