This is a very distinctive and stylish plant from Brazil with big aromatic leaves an strong stems covered with many small rusty red/orange blooms - confertiflora is Latin for 'crowded with flowers' - very late flowering when many other things have stopped and impressive as decoration at Christmas.
Cut back in spring to maintain good shape - these are big tropical looking plants and should be staked in the garden to avoid any wind damage.
