An unhelpful Latin name for a beautiful plant originally from Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina- many tall willowy stems topped with china blue flowers in late summer and right into the autumn - stunning growing against the russets, reds and yellows of the late summer garden.
Its English name - Bog Sage - is no better and misleading as well - please don't plant it in a bog - just in a spot which is sunny but doesn't bake absolutely solid.
Dont worry if it looks very sorry for itself in the spring - it does die right back but new growth will emerge. Highly recommended.
